Hundreds Have Voted Early in Bismarck School Bond Election

Posted:

Around 1-thousand people have voted early for next week Tuesday's Bismarck Public School special election.

There are two ways you can vote before the end of the week.

The first is by mail.

You need to fill out this application by tomorrow. They'll mail a ballot back to you.

But the easiest way to vote is to come directly to Hughes.

You can vote absentee daily from 8 until 5 through Friday.

All you need is a drivers license of other form of identification.

We've got two and a half days left for people to come in it's a quick and easy process we ask that they bring their drivers license with them if they have a drivers license it's an automated process we scan that it prints out a label for them they just have to mark an x on the ballot and sign the envelop it couldn't be much easier," says Bismarck Public Schools Business Manager Ed Gerhardt.

Gerhardt says there have been questions about voter fraud.

He says measures are in place to stop voter fraud. A new system helps them determine if you can vote and if you already have.

With this system once you vote all those 21 sites are linked electronically so if you get in your car and to drive to another site to vote again by the time you get there they'll know that you've already voted so it eliminates the possibility of anybody voting more than once," says Gerhardt.

Next Tuesday voting hours are 7am to 7pm. You can vote an ANY of the 21 sites.
