A homeowner in north Bismarck loses a barn after a grass fire takes off on her property.
The Bismarck rural fire department had several trucks respond to this farm in North Bismarck.
The homeowner says her family called 911 after seeing what started out as a small grass fire on the corner of the property.
In a matter of minutes, she says the whole barn was up in flames.
It had hay in it serving as fuel to the fire.
An electric crew is also on scene monitoring the situation.
Sue Alexander says she's grateful for the fire department's quick response.
"Fires are scary and anytime you have a fire, you feel bad for what you've lost but you think about what could have happened and so considering what could have happened, loss of life or our house, I'm just thrilled that nothing worse happened." says homeowner Sue Alexander.
Alexander says they will be watching the charred area for hot spots, probably all night, due to the conditions.
