Nearly two thousand businesses nationwide were nominated for this award--and one North Dakota business is in the final 100.
The Mandan business--Bison Booties is a finalist for the Audience Choice Award in the Martha Stewart Living's American Made contest.
The competition recognizes small businesses whose work excels in quality, beauty, inspiration, and creativity.
Erica Hager has been making baby booties for 2 years and says it's an honor to be listed with some of the most successful small businesses in the nation.
"When you just start it's like a couple pairs a week and now it's pretty common that they don't fit in my mail box when I have to mail them everyday. So I make a lot of trips to the post office and the people at the post office know me So yeah, I definitely fill the mailbox with online orders, just about everyday. So with the 10-thousand dollars, I would definitely take my business to the next level. Right now I am having a hard time keeping up, so I would kinda ramp up production. Possibly hire someone, I need a new sewing machine. It would just really give me the flexibility to take my business to where it needs to be at this point." says Erica Hager/Bison Booties.
