Voters Pass Bismarck Public School Bond Issue

Bismarck residents vote OVERWHELMINGLY to build new schools for a growing student enrollment.

Polls closed at 7:00 Tuesday night.

Almost 14 thousand people in the Bismarck Public School district voted.

11,715 voted yes and only 2056 people voted no on the bond issue.

So it passes with 85%.

The special election was for a $86.5 million plan to build and realign schools because of overcrowding in schools.

School officials say, it means a $9 a month increase in property taxes for every $150,000 of property value.

The bond issue needed a 60 percent approval to pass.
