Mandan City Commissioners are looking for young people with civic pride so they can start a youth commission.
Commissioner Dot Frank is heading up the new idea, hoping it encourages young people to get involved and help their city.
There is an application for Mandan students from 8th to 12th grades to fill out, or any 18 to 20 year old graduate that lives in Mandan.
Dot says that the 11 member commission will meet bi-monthly, and that it will help Mandan commissioners hear from a younger demographic.
Dot Frank a Mandan City Commissioner says "What we want to encourage these young people to do is to participate in the city commission meetings to have them testify on their behalf as a youth group. also to initiate some projects we've got some seed money that we have for the students who are part of this commission to start out with."
The application must be received at Mandan City Hall by 5 p.m. this Tuesday.
