Feeding Families as Measure 3

You've heard a lot about political measures and candidates in the past few weeks.

But one measure that hasn't gotten as much attention is Measure 3.

"The Feeding Families" petition will be on the ballot as Measure 3.

The measure will add language into our state's constitution that will protect modern farming and ranching practices like vaccinating, branding and crop spraying.

State Ag Commissioner Doug Goehring says he's supportive of the measure because it promotes agriculture and ensures food security as farmers are continually forced to feed a growing population.

(Doug Goehring / ND Ag Commissioner) "I think this is a good measure. this just ensures that agriculture has the ability to produce food, fiber and feed for our state, for our nation and for society."

Officials say some areas on the road near Jamestown were 10 to 14 inches deep. It may be hard to tell but this is actually interstate. Drivers were down to about five miles an hour just west of Jamestown
Two westbound semi trailers were swept off the road and had to be pulled out early Sunday, and some eastbound vehicles were stranded until the water receded enough to let them proceed.
