IBAND State Convention

Posted:
The Independent Beef Association of North Dakota is bringing national cattle issues to Bismarck.
Dr. Dave Fly is the State Veterinarian in New Mexico.
Dr. Fly says the long, extended drought is affecting the cattle market, reducing breeding herds and stressing cattle producers in the area.
He says ranchers are also being impacted by the violence along the US-Mexico border.
(Dr. Dave Fly / New Mexico State Veterinarian) "We have a number of cattle producers right on the border and this have affected them and their families in a rather significant way. Some producers have had to move their families out of those areas where the ranches are in to town and unfortunately, there is a certain amount of random violence that sometimes they get caught up in."
If you would like to learn more, Dr. Fly will be speaking at IBAND's state convention this weekend in Bismarck.
