St. Alexius becomes a part of the Mayo Clinic Care Network

Posted:

Mayo Clinic Healthcare expertise arrives in Bismarck.

St. Alexius is the newest member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.

Local Physicians will now have access to Mayo medical information and be able to ask specialists at Mayo questions about their patients who are right here in Bismarck.

St. A's CEO Gary Miller says a primary goal of this relationship is to keep patients local and reduce the number of referrals to Mayo.

(Gary Miller / CEO St. Alexius Medical Center) "We've been involved with a number of the critical access hospitals in the Bismarck/Mandan area and surrounding area. One of the things we've attempted to do with them is offer them support so they can keep their patients local when that makes sense. Same thing applies to our relationship with the Mayo Clinic Care network. Many times we will find that we have excellent expertise, with support from the Mayo Clinic Care Network Specialists we can keep those people in their home communities."

St.Aleixus is the first hospital in western North Dakota to become a part of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.

Altru Health System in Grand Forks is also one of ten hospitals in the country to be a part of this network.
