It was called in around four Wednesday afternoon.
The fire was under control around 1:30 this morning.
Up to 12 firefighting agencies from surrounding agencies along with farmers in the area responded to the fire.
But the high winds were their worst enemy.
The fire destroyed four of the seven or eight homes in Bucyrus and two abandoned homes nearby.
54 MDU power poles were burned.
Adams County Commissioner Chuck Christman says at one point the fire was six miles in length and a half mile wide.
