This spot of land just to the east of the newly opened LaQuinta Hotel near the YMCA in Minot will soon have a new strip mall built on it. The developers -- Dakota Commercial out of Grand Forks -- are not divulging exact business that will go in here...and you can see an artist's depiction of what will be built -- however, they have told me early plans call for a coffee chain and a pizza chain as well. Construction is expected to start, quote, 'Any time now...'
Speaking of hotels -- the independent Magic City Inn is nearing completion on 20th Avenue in southeast Minot. It has sprung up quickly next to the Noble Inn...and extended stay style hotel that too is scheduled to open up soon.
In the booming town of Stanley -- MidState Telephone is close to wrapping up an upgrade on Main Street...that included work both inside...and out. You'll notice the new store front next to City Hall.
Also in Stanley -- Town and Country Credit Union has added a 9th branch location. Just north of Highway 2 at 1101 4th Street SE is where T&C is located. Full credit union services offered here including a 24 hour ATM. There will be a grand opening celebration from November 13th through the 16th.
And finally -- you'll notice in south Minot, the original KXMC building has finally come down. It is the final building to be cleared from the land that is set to become a massive retail district over the coming years.
