Heidi Heitkamp takes center stage Thursday to thank voters.
A majority of North Dakota voters split their tickets on election day, electing Democrat Heidi Heitkamp to the U.S. Senate while giving Republicans the rest of their votes.
There was a 3,000 vote difference between Heitkamp and Republican Rick Berg.
Berg conceded Wednesday but Heitkamp refused to speak to media until today.
She's traveling around the state on a "thank you" tour.
It kicked off in Fargo this morning where about 300 people came to hear her speak.
Heitkamp says she has been asked to serve on the Senate Agriculture Committee and has accepted.
Other stops today include Grand Forks, New Town and Bismarck.
Heitkamp's "thank you" tour Bismarck stop is at 7 p.m. at the Labor Temple on Front Avenue.
