
Morton County has to decide what to do to handle an overcrowded jail.
Morton County voters were given three options - a joint jail with Burleigh County-- expand the current facility--or build a new one.
Voters favored a joint jail with Burleigh County.
Bruce Strinden with the Burleigh County Commission says the both counties have a detention committee that will meet to figure out details of a joint facility.
Bruce Strinden the Chairman Morton County Commission says, "We will really I think begin discussions regarding what type of arrangements we can work out with a joint facility with regard to financing management there will be a number of issues we're going to have to iron out."
Strinden says the Morton County Jail is full.
Burleigh County Jail is also at capacity with 148 in jail and another eleven are being housed other facilities.
