Ruth Meiers Expanding Emergency Shelter

Posted:

There will soon be more room for those needing a warm place to stay at night.

Ruth Meiers is expanding their emergency shelter.

The shelter will be located where the old bowling alley is in Bismarck, on 23rd Avenue.

The current emergency shelter can house 25 residents per night, the new one will hold 120 people.

"It will not only increase the ability to provide services for those who are in our residential program, but also to serve more and more that are coming to the community, and the ability for them to have a night stay in a bed, have a laundry facility," Executive Director Jaclyn Bugbee said.

The new shelter is expected to be up and running by the middle of December.
