Korslien Named Top Fair Manager

Posted: Updated:

North Dakota State Fair Manager Renae Korslien has been named the Fair Manager of the Year by the Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs.

This year's award recognized Korslien for her outstanding leadership during and after the devastating June 2011 flood.

Korslien worked with city leaders and area contractors to build protective dikes that saved the State Fair Center and the new multi-million dollar grandstand.

Korslien led the recovery and rebuilding efforts in the months that followed while also moving forward with plans for the 2012 State Fair.

(Renae Korslien, North Dakota State Fair Manager) "It is great. I mean to be honored like this, and it was a tough time through that last flood and we put on a great fair but it was all of us. It was our whole team so really it was not only just me, but the whole staff that got this award.

Korslien has been the North Dakota State Fair Manager since 2010.

The group giving the award includes fairs from 8 states and two provinces.
