Black Friday Eve

Posted:

You might as well call it Black Thursday, some stores across the nation open their doors tonight.

K-Mart is one store opening on Thanksgiving, doors opened at 8 p.m. at K-Mart along with Sears and Walmart.

Hundreds gathered outside in the snow and wind for hours, and they say they don't mind standing in line on Thanksgiving.

"We're out here because we need stuff for a new house, getting a dishwasher hopefully, washer and dryer," Ashley Renner said.

"I am just experiencing what I haven't experienced for a long time, I haven't been out in the cold ever doing this, so testing the waters," Mary Bollinger said.

"Black Friday sales, trying to get toys for the kids, and I also came for some toothpaste," Robin Opsahl said.

"I'm actually out here for my mother-in-law, I was at her place for Thanksgiving at 2:00 p.m. and she's quite elderly, she wanted a TV so I said I'd come out and stand in line and I've been here since 3:45 p.m. ," Frank Mack said.

Target opened an hour later at 9 p.m. Best Buy, Old Navy, Kohls, Herberger's and a handful of stores in the Kirkwood mall will open at midnight.
