
A house was heavily damaged by fire in northwest Minot late this afternoon.
Firefighters responded to 1121 - 1st street northwest at about 4:15.
The Minot Police report that the owners were at home when the fire started and were able to get out safely and dial 911.
However, authorities say a couple of pets are still unaccounted for at this time.
One neighbor indicated that it appeared that the smoke came from northwest corner of the house where the kitchen is.
Fire crews were able to get the flame extinguished but the damage to the house is extensive.
The cause of the fire isn't known at this time.
