Workplaces Take Part In Powerball Pools

Posted:

With tonight's Powerball at a record $550 million, many workplaces pooled their money together, hoping to strike it rich.

We caught up with a group of employees, who spent hundreds of dollars on Powerball tickets.

Employees at this car dealership in Mandan pooled together nearly $400 hoping to all become millionaires.

"We've done this quite a few times, anytime it gets over 300 million or anytime it gets big," Zach Brew said.

"So I walked around the dealership and I collected from 39 different people and we all went ten bucks a piece," Jim Reuer said.

One employee who pitched in his $10, is pretty optimistic.

"I've got a good feeling about this one, so I'm going to go lease a new Cadillac without telling my wife," Trinity Unrath said.

So what if this group of employees ended up winning the powerball, we asked them if they'd show up to work the next day?

"They might be without a lot of employees, if the rare chance we would win," Reuer said.

"I like working here, I will still be here tomorrow whether we win or not," Unrath said.

Like anyone who has purchased a Powerball ticket for this record jackpot --- they're all thinking about what they'd do with the money.

"If it were me, if I win, I'd buy land that's what I want, land for hunting and build a house on.," Brew said.

"I don't know, who knows, probably retire, that's about it," Reuer said.

Retiring a millionaire.
