In Surrey -- Crane Johnson Lumber Company is now officially open for business. You'll find them on the south side of Highway 2. Crane Johnson was founded in Cooperstown, North Dakota, and is now headquartered in Fargo. You'll find yards in three North Dakota communities and two in Minnesota.

Tony Watterud with Crane Johnson says the booming construction business was bringing lots of their clients to this part of the state...so moving out with them just made lots of sense...so they have expanded...

(Tony Watterud - Crane Johnson Lumber Company) "We have a number of customers who were coming up here out of the Fargo market and we decided to build a location to service those better as well as quite an opportunity here for us for some growth."

He says they serve everyone...the do-it-yourselfer to the contractor as well. They are open Monday through Friday

In Minot, the Ryan Family Dealerships have christened a new location with a complete make-over. The old Fisher Motors became Ryan Honda last year...and now the transformation to Ryan GMC-Buick-Cadillac is finished. The sign work was being completed this week and the interior of building has been wrapped up as well. Kathy Gaddie says bringing the familiar brands back to the lot they called home for decades is gratifying.

(Kathy Gaddie - Ryan Family Dealerships) "The beautiful part about this is, Buick and Cadillac...this was there home forever and they were just displaced for a while. We are bringing these brands back to their home."

A grand opening is planned for early in 2013.

Finally -- on 20th in the KMart lot, a quick stop for a favorite drink is open. Cassidy Bowers manages Double Shot Espresso that opened just a few weeks ago.

With Business Beat, I'm Perry Olson.
