Dreams In Motion Celebrates Birthday

Posted:

A group called Dreams in Motion Celebrates a birthday today.

Dreams in Motion started up one year ago for kids and adults between the ages of 2 and 25 who have a mobility challenge or visual impairment.

Today family, friends and volunteers from the Mandan high school basketball teams celebrated "Dreams in Motion's" one year birthday, by playing a game of wheelchair basketball.

"You have to have a mobility challenge or visual impairment, but you don't have to be wheelchair bound to play, and so we adapt for all levels, those that are wheelchair bound and those who have a very small limitation and it levels the playing field to get everyone in a wheelchair," Annete Kaip said.

Michael Kaip, one of the members of Dreams in Motion is heading off to college next year, and taking his wheelchair basketball skills with him.

"I'm going to college next year and I'm going to play wheelchair basketball at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, so I'm really excited for that," Michael Kaip said.

The group also plays a number of other sports, including curling, track and field and soon they'll be starting "sled hockey."
