Details of Assault at YCC are Revealed

Posted:

Highway Patrol Captain Kyle Kichmeier says Sunday around 10:50pm five juveniles assaulted a corrections officer in Brown Cottage.

The suspects threw a blanket over the officer, assaulted him and drug him into another room where they locked the door.

The juveniles took his vehicle keys, wallet and radio, but the officer was able to call for help on his cell phone.

Kirchmeier says the juveniles then threw away the items they stole. At least three were seen leaving in a bronze 2012 Honda with North Dakota license plate DEBDEL.

Two of the suspects are from Minot, one is from Cando, one is from Fargo and the fifth does not have a home address listed.

Authorities say the juveniles could be fleeing in the car or on foot.

The officer assaulted at YCC was treated for minor injuries and released.
