12-12-12 Birthdays

Posted: Updated:

You've probably heard the date quoted a dozen times today.

12-12-12.

While it may just be a date to some, it has more meaning to others.

Jennifer Thorgramson tells us about two young birthday girls who some might consider 'lucky.'

It's called a 'golden birthday' when your age aligns with the date of your birth.

But what do you call it when your age aligns with the date --- three times over?

(Magdalen Anderson, Minot Resident) "A silver birthday."

Maggie Anderson turned 12 on 12-12-12.

To top it off, it was 12 degrees outside when we met her at Ramstad Middle School Wednesday morning.

(Magdalen Anderson, Minot Resident) "When we did figure it out, my sister kept making fun of me for it... since the world is going to end."

She's the youngest of her siblings and she says that means she's often spoiled on her birthday anyway, but the special date is causing extra attention.

(Magdalen Anderson, Minot Resident) "People I don't even know are saying happy birthday to me."

The only thing better than turning 12 on 12-12-12?

How about getting to quote the anomaly as your birth date?

(Michelle Bielski, Minot Resident) "She was born on the 12th at 3:57."

Ava Bielski waited for her special day, a full week past her due date.

Wednesday afternoon, parents Michelle and Chris were waiting for Ava's big brother Mason, thankful for Ava's arrival.

(Michelle Bielski, Minot Resident) "We love her and we're so grateful and she's healthy and that's all we could ask for. We're definitely blessed."

She may not have been born at 12:12.

And thankfully, Ava's not 12 pounds.

But three in a row are pretty good odds.

(Michelle Bielski, Minot Resident) "Twelve will definitely be her lucky number."
