Minot's Recovery Warehouse -- an operation working with homeowners rebuilding after the flood -- got a financial boost today thanks to a nationwide WalMart program.
The big box retailer handed out 150-thousand dollars today...and 15 thousand of that went to the Warehouse.
This is the second time Recovery Warehouse has received funds from WalMart.
In fact, the first was a year ago...10-thousand dollars that jump started fundraising efforts.
Now today this announcement of the '12 Days of Giving' funds coming from the retailer not only marks a substantial donation...but also pushed total fundraising past one million dollars.
Those funds have allowed the warehouse to expand on its ability to help homeowners trying to rebuild.
(Mary Barker - Recovery Warehouse) "Since last year where we had just initially gone with insulation and sheetrock it has grown quite a bit. We do framing, lumber, subfloor, OSB, house wrap...and then now with the use of the other grant money we can do flooring, kitchens, bathrooms."
Barker says the latest 15-thousand dollars has been earmarked to by mud for use after drywalling homes and in finishing walls.
