Holiday Travelers on Christmas Eve

Posted: Updated:

You won't have to "be dreaming of a white Christmas", because North Dakota is already covered in snow.

A great thing for the holiday atmosphere, but something to be careful of on the road.

Many people are traveling to and from their holiday destination this Christmas Eve.

With scattered snow and especially cold temperatures, you should have a winter survival kit, just in case of an emergency.

We caught up with some holiday travelers--filling up before or after their trip.

"We have bottled water and blankets, that's about all I prepared with." says Laura Reinbold/Traveling to Velva.

"We had to come up through Minneapolis and when we turned north at the road looked like a mirror for the first ten miles, but we made 'er." says Dean Eichele/Drove from Springfield, MO.

He says this is the first time they've spent the holidays with family in North Dakota in about five years.
