A year long investigation has resulted in ten people being charged with delivery of synthetic drugs.
<< A business that specializes in everything skating, is today in the cross hairs for selling illegal products.
Ten people have been charged in what's the largest synthetic drug case in Burleigh County.
The charges stem from an ongoing investigation that started back in January 2012.
The owner of Discontent, Thomas Teply along with store manager Steven Johnson and 8 employees are charged with felony conspiracy to deliver synthetic drugs.
The felony charges come from numerous incidents police had with people who had "used" synthetics they purchased at Discontent.
According to the criminal complaint, one officer responded to a woman having a seizure after smoking "Diablo". (March 2, 2012)
A Bismarck officer confiscated a package of "Pure Evil" at a High School, the student admitted to buying it downtown. (March 23, 2012)
In another instance, a man was involved in a series of crashes while he was driving. Officers found an opened package of "Diablo" in his car. He told officers he bought it at Discontent and was smoking it while he was driving. (June 6, 2012)
Court documents say all those products were tested and contained controlled substances, making them illegal at the time.
During this multi-month investigation, officers used a confidential informant to make a purchase in the store.
According to the affidavit, the CI purchased "Pure Evil" and "Diablo".
Those drugs also tested positive for containing illegal substances.
In June police raided the business -- taking over 2,000 packages of synthetics, other drug paraphernalia and business records.
The business records seized provide a look at how much business Discontent was doing involving synthetic drugs.
Court records say from January through the middle of June - the store sold almost 18,000 packages of three brands of synthetics that contained illegal substances.
The same records show -- sales totaled nearly $142,000 in drug paraphernalia in the first six months of the year.>>
The 10 people charged have not been arrested.
They will be ordered to appear on the charges at a hearing that has not yet been set.
