More berries, beer and beds coming to the Bismarck-Mandan area soon.

Barbara Sharp brings you the latest in what's going on Around Town.

<<Main Street Liquor in Mandan will soon be home to Bird Dog Brewing.

Brewer Dennis Kwandt is partnering up with Main Street Liquor to add a brewery to the current operation at 1005 East Main Street.

So what's different about this microbrewery?

(Dennis Kwandt, Brewer/Partner, Bird Dog Brewing, LLC) "Well, my beers, they're more malty than most. My amber has a lot of character, a bready feel. My imperial stout has a lot of residual sweetness. And my lauger is, is clean; has got a nice spicey finish. . . . And it's possibly the very first drive-through brewery in the country."

Also unique to Bird Dog Brewing is that while most microbreweries typically only sell their brews, the Main Street establishment offers a full bar.

The owners promise even if you're not a beer lover, they'll find a brew for you.

The earliest Bird Dog selections will be available is March of 2013.

Bismarck will be adding 61 hotel rooms to the current count of approximately 2,900 rooms in the Bismarck-Mandan area.

A Super 8 is coming to town and is set to start construction as soon as the ground thaws, according to franchise owner Sam Kumar.

Super 8, a Wyndham brand, is featuring a new design, which this Super 8 will be amongst the first to debut.

Architectural plans are currently being finalized, but the location is set -- between Candlewood Suites and MacKenzie River Pizza Pub and Grill.

The new hotel will feature all typical Super 8 amenities and include an indoor pool.

Another self-serve frozen yogurt eatery is coming to Bismarck.

Oklahoma-based CherryBerry Yogurt Bar will be located at 559 South 7th Street near Barnes & Noble.

Presently, remodeling is still underway at the location.

Taking you Around Town, I'm Barbara Sharp.>>

New hotels and restaurants are certainly the theme these days.
