Bohl Gets Contract Extension

Posted: Updated:

NDSU will head to it's Second football National Championship in as many years.

Regardless of the outcome-- Craig Bohl will be calling Fargo home for the next 8 years.

NDSU gives the Bison head coach an 8 year contract extension.

Bohl's base salary on the contract is set at over 206 thousand dollars.

It will increase annually by at least 5 percent based on performance evaluations.

Bohl has an 88-32 record in his 10 years of coaching the Bison-- including a 9-1 record in the FCS Playoffs.

Bohl is second to only Rock Hager in all-time wins at NDSU as Head Coach.

Athletic Director Gene Taylor says the contract will keep Bohl through 2021.

" When You make a commitment like this I think it says an awful lot. A lot of times a lot of zeros and commas behind a name did not necessarily translate into real satisfaction of your job. This is a great place to coach and so I really appreciate the university's commitment."

Also for the Bison-- a little concern as Grant Olson was seen in the hospital earlier today.

Bohl says the junior middle linebacker will still make the trip to Frisco and is listed as Probable for Saturday's Championship game.

Game time will be noon Central time on ESPN 2 as NDSU takes on SAM HOUSTON STATE for a National Title.
