Picking up an extra roll of paper towels the next time you are shopping could help one local shelter in town significantly.
The large number of animals being surrendered to the Souris Valley Animal Shelter has steadily increased.. which means supplies to take care of these animals are being used up at a faster rate. The Souris Valley Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization that relies solely on donations from the community to keep it's doors open and it's kennels warm. The shelter is in need of both volunteers and supplies that include paper towels, Dawn Dish Soap, Clorox Bleach, old bedding and towels, toys for both dogs and cats as well as monetary donations.
(Susan Wagers, Shelter Director, Souris Valley Animal Shelter, Minot) "Anytime you are out grocery shopping or at Walmart and you want to pick up an item or two, we are always in need. We get a lot of great donations in and it seems as soon as we turn around we are ready for more."
You may drop items off at the shelter Tuesday through Friday 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from Noon to Five.
