Fire Crews Knock Down Garage Fire in Frigid Temperatures

Fire crews respond to a detached garage fire in downtown Bismarck around 12:05 Sunday afternoon.

According to Acting Battalion Chief Rick Graba, the fire was contained to the garage and under control within around ten minutes.

There were no injuries but everything inside the structure was destroyed, including two vehicles.

The structure is also a total loss.

Smoke was still billowing out of the garage around one o'clock.

Police officers blocked off the neighborhood while fire and public works crews attempted to keep the area safe from electrical hazards.

Total damages are estimated to be approximately $50,000 dollars.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
