The Capitol Curling Club hosts the State tournament this weekend.
The Men's field has 11 teams and Women's has 4.
Winning state means a slot in the National Championships later this year.
Two Bismarck teams met in the Men's Championship-- Team Jensen Throwing yellow and Team Heier throwing Blue.
It'd come down to the tenth frame Heier trailing by two-- they set up two nice guards early-- but Jensen has the hammer.
So blue looking to get one in the house that stone sneaks in-- But Jensen comes back with a take out putting the pressure on the final throw-- Heier needing two stones inside of the yellow stone. He gets one but not the other-- Team Jensen wins the match.
Skip Dave Jensen is happy to finally get the state title.
(Dave Jensen)"Pretty good we've been trying an awfully long time it's never easy and it's kind of been nice that it's in our home club and probably gave us a little leg up but we had a lot of home teams playing in it too. The National Championship this year is in Chicago the exmore curling club and my son goes to Notre Dame so he's just a few hours away so it's kinda gonna work out well for him "
(Erik Jensen) "Well when I was 6 he taught me to curl so it's kind of fun to bring it all into one event and bring home some trophies but he has taught me everything that I know and we've butted heads since I've gotten better but now we just have a good team.
Team Jensen claims the state title 7 to 6 in 10 ends.
Women's title is claimed by team Reiser the final there is 8 to 5.
