Fire Truck for Trenton

Posted: Updated:

A little Northwestern North Dakota town is sitting without a fire truck.  But today, the Fire Academy of North Dakota in Mandan is stepping up.

The Trenton Fire Department has been without a fire truck since before Christmas, when the engine on their lone truck blew up.  Chief Darrell Graf of the Fire Academy of North Dakota is happy to help:  "We have a fire truck that we're not using during the Winter for firefighter training.  And it's just a blessing for them and us and everybody if this thing can be inside and be filled with water and ready to respond and save some little child's life."

The Trenton Fire Department hopes to raise funds to purchase a fire truck to serve the approximately 541 people who live there.

Mandan's Fire Academy previously loaned this fire truck to the community of Northwood, when a tornado took out their fire station and fire engine.  For more on the Fire Academy of North Dakota, visit www.NDFire.com.
