Michael's has been in Minot for 10 years...but that run came to an end on Saturday when the Italian restaurant closed its doors for good. Michaels was once lo acted in the Oak Park Shopping Center...but many years ago relocated here, to the 20th Avenue Mall.

A major construction project is underway on Broadway at Ryan Chevrolet. General Motors has requested upgrades to many dealerships across the country, and officials with the Ryan Family Dealerships have obliged. The south showroom will be demolished to make room for a new elevated location...and the north showroom is getting a make-over. Parts and Service still remain and the sales staff is located on the south side of the lot. Kathy Gaddie says the time was right to make the changes...

(Kathy Gaddie - Ryan Family Dealerships) "What it is saying to the customer and what we want to say to the customer is that we care about you and we want your experience to be a really good one so we are willing to spend the money to do the renovation to make this very inviting and customer friendly."

The upgrades here should be done by November when the 40th anniversary of Ryan Chevrolet is celebrated. For Kathy, this location has lots of meaning...it was her father Jim's first store and what she has known for a very long time...

(Kathy Gaddie - Ryan Family Dealerships) "This is the store...this is the store that is dear to my heart. I was raised on Chevrolet. My dad worked for Chevrolet since he graduated from college. We didn't know there were other brands but Chevrolet! So this is everything."

Ryan Family Dealerships now owns four other stores in Minot, Bismarck, and Williston. With Business Beat, I'm Perry Olson.
