Washburn Man Arrested for Sex Related Crimes Involving Minors

Posted:

A Washburn man is charged with sex crimes involving minors.

37-year-old Travis Lee Guenthner is charged with two counts of luring minors by computer and a third count of possession of child pornography.

Bismarck police say Guenthner began chatting online on two separate occasions with what he thought were 14-year-old girls. The contact was made between January 12th and 19th.

Guenthner talked about meeting them and having sex with them. In one case he asked if he could take nude photos of the girl engaging in sex with him in exchange for money.

He arranged a Saturday meeting at Kirkwood Mall where he was arrested.

Police say Geunthner admitted to sending messages to the girl.

Police found images of child pornography on several of his cell phones.

The two counts of luring minors by computer are Class 'B' felonies. The child pornography charge is a class 'C' felony.
