Thawing Pipes Lead to Evacuation of Apartment

A local apartment building was evacuated Monday morning after the report of smoke coming from the building.

Bismarck police say they responded to the 2809 Hawken Street around 9am.

Police say a maintenance man told them he had been thawing pipes but that the fire was out.

The Bismarck Fire Department tore out some drywall to make sure the fire was out.

The apartment is owned by Valley Rental.
