Muzzy Makes Court Appearance

Posted: Updated:

The man accused of shooting a Minot man Sunday night has been ordered held on 100-thousand dollars cash bond.

District Judge Todd Cresap set the bond for 31-year-old

Brian Keith Muzzy.

Muzzy has been charged with attempted murder, a Class-A Felony carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Investigators say Muzzy shot roommate Shaun Scott after an argument near their trailer in Holiday Park Trailer Court just east of Minot.

Muzzy turned himself in to sheriff's deputies Monday afternoon.

In a court appearance today, prosecutors said they considered Muzzy a flight risk since he is from Colorado and only recently moved here.

They said he has two felonies in Colorado - a drug charge and a charge of vehicular assault.

Muzzy told the judge he would seek a court appointed attorney.

His preliminary hearing was set for February 28th.

The victim, 32-year-old Shaun Scott, was taken to Trinity Hospital where he is reported to be in good condition.
