Posted: Updated:

Tragedies in the workplace command a lot of attention -- not so much when companies boast good records.  Some records are so impressive, they catch the attention of the North Dakota Safety Council.

One recipient, Anthony Stoner, Environmental Health & Safety Manager for Integrity Windows & Doors, explains, "the recipients of the Safety Achievement Award, which is provided to those companies who achieve a greater than 50 percent reduction in their injury rates year over year, it's a challenge."

Lynae Hanson, Assistant Executive Director of the North Dakota Safety Council, says "people are more dedicated and passionate about safety, and they're coming to our conference to learn and try to make sure that they're doing the right thing for their employees."

Wrapping up their annual four-day health and safety conference, the North Dakota Safety Council presented 138 awards to companies and employees for exemplary on-the-job safety records.
