The state House has rejected a bill that would have forgiven part of the state rebuilders loan for victims of the 2011 flood.
By a vote of 56-36, the House voted down a bill sponsored by several Minot-area legislators.
The bill would have forgiven up to ten thousand dollars of the 30 thousand dollar loan given to flood victims who qualified.
Meanwhile, the state's congressional delegation announced FEMA is sending one-point-one million dollars to Ward County to buy out six flooded properties in Logan and Burlington.
The grant is part of FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
