Have A Heart For the Hungry

Posted: Updated:

For the tenth year in a row the Minot Area Homeless Coalition is having its Have a Heart Food Drive to benefit local area soup kitchens and food pantries.

The food drive will take place during the entire month of February.

Executive director of the Minot Area Homeless Coalition, Mac McLeod believes it is important to replenish the food pantries within the area because so much of the food is used during the holidays.

The drive helps re-stock food until the Postal Service has a food drive in May.

Mcleod said because of the increase in need of the food pantries, it is important for the community to get involved.

(Mac McLeod, Executive Director, MAHC) "I think when we first started out, it was a very small event. Now it's grown into something enormous. Which is good because that's saying that people are taking an interest in what goes on in their community and they want to help."
