A new member joins the Bismarck Fire Department.

Greg Carr is the permanent chaplain for the firefighters of Bismarck.
Carr was a firefighter in Iowa for 12 years, he now serves as a full time pastor here in Bismarck and volunteers as the chaplain for the city's fire department.

(Greg Carr / Chaplain for Bismarck Fire Dept.) "I'm assisting them on the scene. Keep the families back so they are not getting in the way works of the fire department and also to be able to get with the firemen if they need anything. Whether, it's spiritually, emotionally, or whatever they need I am there to help them. Sometimes calls can be stressful, sometimes home life can be stressful. So I am there to help fill that void."

At the pinning ceremony three other employees also received promotions.
John Hildremyr and Josh Peshek are now Captains and Jeff Holte was promoted to Battalion Chief.

June is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness month. The disorder affects thousands of combat veterans every year, many of whom never seek out help. According to the Department of Veteran Affairs,
The Veterans Affairs Clinic in Fargo has been working on their outreach across the state, they want more soldiers to get screened, but can't force it either.
