The horses that were neglected and seized north of New Salem are now up for adoption.
Morton County Sheriff Dave Shipman says all the horses have been removed from the ranch north of New Salem and have been taken to the Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue.
Shipman says they started to remove the horses Saturday--this is the last load of 119 horses to arrive at the rescue.
Shipman says so far things have been going very smoothly and estimates there are only roughly 20 horses that still need homes.
(Dave Shipman / Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue) "There is no adoption fee for these, just an agreement that they would take good care of these. Not sell them, feed them back to health and keep them."
The 38 that were seized in Burleigh County have not yet been adopted but the adoption process should start at the end of the week.
For more information on either adoptions you can contact the Burleigh or Morton County Sheriff's Department.
