Wife of Fallen N.D. Soldier Attending State of the Union Address

Posted:

Many of you will probably tune into tonight's State of the Union Address, but one North Dakotan will be in the audience watching the President address the nation.

Adrienne Linde, the wife of Sgt.. 1st Class Darren Linde is Senator Heidi Heitkamp's guest at tonight's address.

Darren Linde died in Afghanistan last December when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive devise.

Adrienne says it's rewarding to know Heitkamp recognizes the sacrifice not only North Dakota soldiers are making, but also their families.

"Heidi's the real deal, she is a great gal and I just feel very blessed to be here," Adrienne Linde said.

Adrienne says she wishes her husband could be with her during the State of the Union Address, but she knows he's with her in spirit.

"It makes me miss my husband a lot more because of his sacrifice and I'm just thankful that his sacrifice is being remembered," Linde said.

Adrienne also attended Sergeant Clinton Romesha's Medal of Honor Ceremony on Monday.
