Top Police Employee Named

Posted: Updated:

As activity increases for the Minot Police Department, those that go above and beyond the call of duty are appreciated even more.

Chief Jason Olson recognized Christine Roberts today as 2012 outstanding police employee of the year.

As principal administrative clerk in the Crime Prevention Office, Christine was nominated for her positive attitude and willingness to take on new responsibilities as the workload at the Minot P-D increases.

The 2012 Police Officer of the Year award went to Senior Officer Jason Bambenek.

He began his career as a police officer in 2005 and also serves as a Drug Recognition Expert and DUI Standardized Sobriety Test instructor.

Officer Bambenek says that while it is a great honor to be recognized for a job well done, when his shift starts tonight, the effort will still be top notch.

(Senior Officer Jason Bambenek, Minot Police Department 2012 Officer of the Year) "It's just going to be business as usual. It's an emblem. Me, as far as getting awards, it's a team effort, it's not just me, it's not any one person"
