The Obasa Group has taken over the old Ackerman-Estvold location east of Minot on Highway 2...and the project they are working on is about to take over the city of Surrey...

(Rich Priesing - VP of Obasa Group) "2000 homes with as many as 5000 people all within Surrey. We are going to more than quintuple the population of Surrey."

This is an artists rendering of Silver Springs...the development that is planned for the next several years to grow Surrey in a massive way to the north. Today, a handful of homes are in the construction phase...but it will be more than homes -- condos, townhomes, and more are coming...

(Rich Priesing - VP of Obasa Group) "We will be starting an apartment complex out there this year and we also have already over a dozen homes under construction from foundation on up to closed in and ready for finishes."

The goal is to take the project in phases...starting with Brookside, The Crest and more on the southern end of the property...and price points very greatly, with the goal of opening up possibilities for many people.

(Rich Priesing - VP of Obasa Group) "The homes are going to range in size from about 1400 feet to about 3 thousand feet or more. Some will be entry level so that means the first time homebuyer can have a chance to move in out there and we will have some bigger lots if you want something more custom."

Back here at the Obasa Group, the plan is to truly be a one stop shop for everything. You can purchase land, pick out a home or builder, secure financing...and even sign on the dotted line soon -- right here.

(Rich Priesing - VP of Obasa Group) "Later this year we will be adding our own title company so once you get your loan approved and home selected you will be able to go down the hall and sign the papers to get your keys."

And perhaps become a part of a massive expansion in Surrey. With Business Beat, I'm Perry Olson.
