Firefighter School

Posted: Updated:

The North Dakota Firefighter Association will be hosting their annual State Fire School once again in Minot.

Roughly one-thousand firefighters throughout the state migrate each year to the host city in order to learn skills in 46 different classes ranging from entry level to advanced.

The event takes place February 28th through March 3rd at the All Seasons Arena, Holiday Inn Riverside and Grand International will be the host locations.

This year marks the third year the event will be hosted in Minot.

Members of the community are welcome to attend and observe any of the training classes.

And there's some good news for firefighters attending the course...

(Rob Knuth, Training Director, NDFA) "Normally there is a registration fee to attend. This year due to a grant we received from Workforce Safety and Insurance the registration fee for members has been waived. So this is absolutely free of charge for member fire departments."

Non-members of the North Dakota Firefighter Association will have to pay a registration fee.

The event will be held in Minot through 2015.
