Black-Light Zumba Session Brings Boy's Struggle to Light

Posted: Updated:

A fun black-light zumba session is bringing to light a young boy's medical condition.

Dozens of zumba dancers are here for a fun workout fundraiser.

Donations collected at black light zumba will help out a Gold Gym trainer's nephew, named Hunter.

The four-year-old was diagnosed with a form of leukemia in January, and is currently at a children's hospital in Seattle.

"It's just amazing how people pull together that you don't even know, I mean my family and I are so grateful for everybody that's come together for this event." says Brienna Schwab/Hunter's aunt.

One of the people who volunteered to dance did so for an extraordinary reason.

Kristin was also was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 15.

She is dancing to help little Hunter, and all children facing cancer.

"You'd be surprised, leukemia is one of the highest diagnosed childhood cancers, but it's also one of the highest curable ones too, that's important to point out." says Kristin Wentz-Krumwiede.

She's living proof.

Kristin is now a 17-year-survivor of the same type of leukemia Hunter is currently struggling with.
