Building Plan Moves Ahead

Posted: Updated:

Ward County Commissioners got a first glance this morning at what the proposed new building for Ward County will look like.

Representatives from JLG Architects were on hand today with design plans for the building that will go up to the north of the Courthouse.

The project got the go-ahead from voters this past November.

The designs show a building similar to the Courthouse in outside appearance...to a point.

It also has more modern characteristics as well...

Commissioners voiced their approval of the plans...and also questioned the ability to add on an additional floor in the future...something that has to be taken into consideration now.

(Don Davison - Architect) "We want to make sure that we have the capacity with those stairways to handle additional people on that forth floor so there are a few things that we need to take into consideration."

Commissioners hope to sign off on plans in the next few weeks so the bidding process can begin and ground can be broken on the project later this summer.
