U-Mary Tax Team Helps File for Free

Posted: Updated:

If your wallet is empty and you have yet to file taxes, don't fret.

The University of Mary tax team is here to help.

Sixteen UMary accounting students are donating their time to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.

The IRS certified preparers will not only help you with your income taxes- they will file them for you.

If you are looking for help- bring your social security card, a photo ID, and your W-2 and tax forms to the Butler Center in Bismarck.

The students will do the rest.

And taxpayers aren't the only ones who benefit from this service...

"Doing the returns really helps you to get that experience that you're not going to get in school. I mean, you can prepare a fake return everyday and you're not going to understand it until you have the person in front of you and you're really filling out their information." says University of Mary accounting student Kelan Oster.

The I-R-S Certified preparers will be on hand through the month of March.

You can find them on Saturdays at the Butler Center in Bismarck.
