Ice Chips Head to Nationals

Posted: Updated:

The Bismarck figure Skating Club will be sending their top Synchronized skating team to Nationals for their third time in a row.

The Capital Ice Chips skaters started their journey on the squad last April with tryouts-- then practices and performances run from June all the way until the end of March with almost 10 hours of work a week on and off the ice.
Coach Becky Gallion says the Chips-- will head to Detroit Michigan on Tuesday for the US Synchronized National Competition on February 28th-- where they hope to finish even better then their last two appearances.

Gallion says, "They're very excited we've been sixth two years ago, fifth last year they really feel like this is their year to get on the podium. I think they work so hard and so when you see how hard they work and how much they want it and to see it really pay off it's just so rewarding as a coach you come out you have a team that works so hard and never quite gets there, all these teams have gotten there, so when you see all that hard work and dedication pay off its just the most rewarding thing.
