Companies Donate to Red Cross

Posted: Updated:

The Mid-Dakota Chapter of the Red Cross is ramping up its readiness thanks to a big donation by a local electrical corporation and businesses.

Today the Red Cross received a 56-thousand dollar contribution that was jointly given by Border State's Electric, H&H, Triangle, Industrial and Slope Electric.

The funds will go towards one vehicle, a fully loaded trailer loaded with first responds supplies, training and disaster relief travel costs.

(Jason Stein, Border States Electric NW Region Vice-President) "I just look at the employee ownership that I work with each and every day and the hundreds of employees that made this possible and I think about the relationships they have with their customers and their willingness to go out and extend the hand and ask for assistance for this great cause. I was really proud we were able to accomplish it all together.

(Allan McGeough, Mid-Dakota Chapter Red Cross Executive Director) "We are truly, truly thankful for all the assistance we get from the agencies, companies and individuals around the community."

In 2012 the Red Cross helped 170 western North Dakota residents affected by house fires, wild fires and severe storms.
