Business Beat - February 28

Posted: Updated:

It's a time for finishing touches here at Kohl's...work on the new department store in Minot is wrapping up, and the Kohls's will officially open its doors this weekend on Sunday. Jenny Lipke is the manager. She's relocated from the Twin Cities and has spent the last 6 weeks stocking the store. It's quite the undertaking...but after opening numerous stores in the last few years, it goes smoothly. The Minot Kohl's is not the largest you'll find across the Midwest...but it does still offer what customers have come to expect.

(Jenny Lipke - Kohl's Store Manager) "This is the smallest format that Kohl's offers right now but we do offer all the products that customers are used to seeing at Kohls and we have the kiosk as well so if there is something not in stock they can go online and shop for free on our kiosk."

Sunday is actually a 'soft opening' -- but they are open for business...and anyone and everyone can shop.

(Jenny Lipke - Kohl's Store Manager) "It is a great time for us to get into the community but practice our end too. Lots of training that day but we are open to the public but our official grand opening date is Wednesday the 6th."

They will remain open everyday starting on Sunday through Wednesday...and beyond.

On Burdick Expressway in the old Alan Kurth building across from the Zoo you'll find Total Transformation Clinic operated by Dr. Felistas Madziwa. The idea here according to the doctor is to get people well...and keep them there. She says she loves preventative medicine and that is a big focus of her practice.

(Dr. Felistas Madziwa - Total Transformation Clinic) "Wellness is a mind, body, spirit thing. We look at what you are eating, what you are putting into your body. It isn't just energy...we look at it as information in yourself."

The clinic has been open for about one month now. With Business Beat, I'm Perry Olson.
