A fire late this afternoon in east Minot heavily damaged a small apartment.
At about 4:30 fire crews were called to east Burdick where a woman reported a fire in her living room. Fire crews from Minot and Minot Rural were quick to respond - partly because they happened to be blocks away at the State Fairgrounds for a firefighters school - and were able to extinguish the flames in a matter of minutes. The damage to the front area of the apartment was substantial though. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
